Azerbaijan’s membership in the Executive Council of UN Tourism was confirmed during the 124th and 125th sessions of the Executive Council held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 7–11 November.

The Azerbaijani delegation also participated in the 26th session of the organization’s General Assembly.

On the sidelines of the General Assembly, a meeting was held between Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, and Ana Karla Machado Lopes, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil. During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism between the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil was signed.

In a separate meeting between Fuad Naghiyev and Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates, bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism was discussed.

It should be noted that during the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly, Ms. Shaikha Al Nuaimi was confirmed as the organization’s new Secretary-General.
